We all know the vast value GitHub, StackOverflow and other online development communities have on the end result we push to our production code. It’s a natural way to get stuff done, fast! Find something that already works, something close to what you need, take a copy of it, use it as a starting point and take off from there 🛫 This not only saves up a bunch of time you’d have to spend on developing everything from scratch, but also help you learn best practice methods and strategies to improve your coding skills. Just like in software development, finally we have the same community for automation developers & testers.
In this post, we are going to explore what becomes today the world’s largest test automation library that helps us enhance our test cases and overcome testing challenges without developing from scratch. Some even call it: Git for test automation 👨💻
So, if you haven’t heard about the Automation Addons library or didn’t have the chance to use them yet, now would be a good time to add them as a must-have ingredient to boost up both your tests and testing skills! 💪
Say Hello to TestProject’s Automation Addons Library
An Addon is a collection of ready-to-use coded Automation Actions related to specific automation tasks, that helps you with the creation of your test cases and acts as reusable building blocks within any test.
The vision behind the Addons library is simple: save valuable development time and effort while creating test automation. Addons are stored in a collaborative library on TestProject‘s free test automation platform, and they are developed & shared by the entire community to the public Addons library.
The Addons library already has 1,500+ Automation Actions and all of them are 100% free. You can learn more about Addons, Automation Actions and how to use them on the official online library or in the official docs.
Contribute to the Automation Addons Library
Developed a useful automation action that others can benefit from? Have a solution to common testing challenges? Looking to share your experience and contribute to the test automation community? We invite you to contribute to the growing TestProject community and develop an Addon yourself 😎
Anything is missing? Feel free to suggest an Automation Addon you wish you’d have over our suggestions board here. TestProject’s community is happy to help and develop more Addons for the benefit of all testers and developers out there! Some Addon suggestions are contributed and shared in a matter of few days to the public Addons library for everyone to benefit from 🙌
Many of the Addons came to life as the result of contributions from the worldwide community, including test automation leaders who developed their own Addons, such as: Johnathan Lipps, Paul Grossman, and many more.
